My name is Penelope Sitter (formerly Seator). I am a student and practitioner of traditional western astrology and Jyotisha. My particular interest is in the system of 17th century French astrologer Jean-Baptiste Morin de Villefranche. I study Morin’s system through Robert Corre’s Forum on Astrology, and through English translations of Morin’s partially translated major work, Astrologia Gallica, published posthumously in Paris in 1661. I established a solid foundation in Jyotisha by study in Hart deFouw’s classes, and in classes of the Vedic Vidya Institute, from 2001-2005. I continue to study this ancient sacred skill and the unbroken tradition in which it has thrived for millennia. Until I left the practice of law in 2004, I practiced immigration law in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Since the late 1980s, I have pursued a sustained and committed path of self-knowledge, self-integration and self-realization. Since 1990, I have studied and practiced astrology. I have found astrology, dowsing and other methods of divination to offer wonderful means to achieve clarity and guide action.
I am especially interested in remediation of the difficulties and disharmonies that can be clearly seen and very helpfully understood through the astrological chart. My practice includes methods of remediation that I have found to be particularly useful. These methods remedy imbalances and entanglements that disharmonize the self’s relationships with its inner and outer worlds to unnecessarily limit the realization of a happy, healthy, ethical and satisfying life. Clarity of understanding; certain methods of inner clearing and realignment; flower, gem and environmental essences; and regular practice are particularly effective means to harmonize, balance and align.
Astrology gives us the most fundamental and revealing accessible look at ourselves, at our lives, and at the cosmos in which we live and die. I intend to investigate our living relationships with cosmos and report on my findings on this website. Check back from time to time if you’re interested to see what’s new.
